Hammers and pulls

Think I posted this in the right place but who knows!

I'm kinda new to bass I guess and i'm confused about something.

I know tab is dirty but it's what I have right now, so please excuse it this one time for me

If I see this, 3h4p3 - on a tab, I know it means strike the 3, hammer the 4, but, do i strike the string a second time to pull to the 3, or do i just literally tap the play the 3, then tap the 4th?

I hope this makes sense, it doesn't really to me but you're intelligent people so i'm sure you get what i mean

Play the 3 normal, hammer-on the 4 & pull-off back to 3 without doing anything with the plucking hand on the second & third notes.
