I think that's just a regular note (high C) on the 24th fret of his high C string (that bass is strung ADGC) which he slides up to.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

If that true then explain why he moves both of his hands to that same spot? If he was sliding he wouldn't have to move his right hand.

His left hand never makes it to the 24th. It's a gliss with a false ending and he taps the C with his right hand.

I figured out another way to play the note. I put my thumb over the fret and then pluck, its a harmonic note but its sounds higher pitched then if you were to just pluck.

No, it's the same pitch. It likely sounds higher because lower overtones are not present, but the pitch is the same - it's still a C.

IMO, it's a fretted note tapped with his right hand. i say that because he vibratos it for a second, and if it was an artificial harmonic, he wouldn't be able to do that. he probably taps it with his right hand a) for showmanship, as that is why he is so famous, and/or b) for an easier left hand transition back down the neck.

too many notes for me, man. not my cup o' tea.

I'd say it's probably both reasons. Definitely makes things easier, and looks cool to boot. Vic knows what he's doing

He slides up with his left hand and taps the 24th fret with his right.

The reason for this is that is sounds more clear, and so that he has time to get his left hand back into open position.

I don't think he intended to do it for showmanship, how ever he did get some as an added bonus.
