harmonic slap issues

Today when i was trying out this slap line i came up with i noticed that i was getting tons of unwanted harmonics. I tend to slap just above the 24th fret so i thought that might've been the cause so i moved my "attack zone" down a few centimeters and still there are tons of harmonics. Messed around with the EQ on my bass to no avail... Anyone have any idea why this happens and how i can stop it from happening. (i am a fairly new slapper)

One reason his happens is when you touch the string with only one finger of your fretting hand.
Put two or more fingers on the string and the harmonic will not occur.
E.g. you fret with the ring finger, put the index on the string too.

Another reason is when you slap on a harmonic node. For example, you fret a note and you slap on the string exactly in the middle of the string (halfway between fretting finger and bridge). This can also be used as a sound effect (cf. Stu Hamm's Surely The Best from the Kings of Sleep album).
