Harmonics ? or something else ?

I need to copy one song, called "Praise to the Lord Almighty" by Brentwood Jazz Quartet. Well, Bass player's named "Craig Nelson" ( heard the name on many lives and albums).

The problem's ...... the beginning part of this song.

Sounds like harmonics. Since it's on G key, the notes should be "G" and "F#".
Last night I tried to 5th fret harrmonics on G (1st) string and 4th on D (2nd). but didn't come out such bright.
Is there any other spot to sound better or..... and advice for it ?

No thats the right note ur getting. It sounds fine when I do it. Try not to blend the g and f# together when ur doing it(Not sure if u are or not) or maybe try pinch the notes instead of doing a natural harmonic.
