Have you ever felt the urge to just yell at your drummer and tell him to just tune his damn drums!?

I am in a 3 piece band we play fast alternative rock music.
Our drummer is heavily influenced by fast punk drummers so he is a very speedy drummer

as a bass player I try to do small things to improve the over all sound, for example I try to lock in with the drums (tho its rather difficult with out style music) but when I start to listen to the bass and snare drums I want to shoot myself!!

Our guitarist is actually a better drummer than our own drummer (but the guitar player is just naturally good at music, he started off drumming and still does it just not mainly, think Dave Grohl.) and they both coincidentally have the same drum kit in the same series and the guitar players kit sounds so much better than the drummers kit, it kills me.

The drummers kit sounds like ass but the guitar players kit sounds quite...it kills me!

Drummers....

With drums, good sound comes from good playing first, unless there is really something wrong with the tuning.
Just mention how weird it is how your guitarrist's kit sounds so much better when it's the same make..

man.....we auditioned a guitarist one time who was a decent drummer. unfortunately, my drummer at the time was barely a drummer. same kit, same tuning, same sticks.....it just sounded better when somebody knew what they were doing. instead of beating on it like a drunken hobo. sounds like your drummer just needs to practice......

My drummer tweaks his stuff juuust enough- it sounds effin GREAT, but any more diddling would definitely be obsessive.

Why don't you just get the guitar player to tune up the drummer's set?
