Have you ever had the problem of your fingers sticking to the strings?

I mean on your plucking hand. I am using roundwounds and for whatever reason, my fingers like sticking to the strings when I play finger style. I was just wondering if there was anything to help prevent that from happening

It happens to me some times. On both roundwounds and flatwounds, but it fades off after a few minutes of playing.

If you haven't already, try cleaning the strings and washing your hands before playing.

yeah. Ive noticed that too. It helps with anti-grease soap that you use when u wash forks, knives, plates and stuff

But id love to find strings that aren't sticky..

yeah you can use some finger grease out there that is sold at guitar shops that help. Also I use regular hand lotion before I play and it seems to work pretty sweet.

It sounds like you're probably playing stainless steel strings, they get sticky especially when they're new-- try some nickels-- not quite as bright as stainless but much warmer and not sticky at all. In fact nickel is much easier on the fingers as well; you won't have to blister before you build a callous.

I agree. about callouses though, you don't have to blister before you build them. in fact blistering is bad for building callouses. though rarely people take their time.
