| Ice is very effective for reducing the inflammation of tendonitis. I suggest getting a couple of bags of frozen peas and icing the back of your hand and wrist after you play for 30 minutes. Keep up with the anti-inflammatory meds (Ibuprofen is fine, so is Naproxen). The best way to take those is to do a 5 day intensive course of max dosage as described on the bottle and follow through with this even if the pain stops. Warm up before you play, and ice after. Then use the ani-inflammatories only intermittently. I often take a couple of Naproxen BEFORE a long practice or gig.
