Healing plucking hand tendonitis

Sign in to disble this ad
I really overdid it a month ago and things just never healed. Been to the chiropractor 3 times in three weeks. Found the best solution was:

1) Using a pick for a week
2) Warm up "whirling exercises" for both arms
3) Ibuprofen.

The electric muscle stimulation form the chiro really helped when my right hand was really screwed up ball of misery.

Ice is very effective for reducing the inflammation of tendonitis. I suggest getting a couple of bags of frozen peas and icing the back of your hand and wrist after you play for 30 minutes. Keep up with the anti-inflammatory meds (Ibuprofen is fine, so is Naproxen). The best way to take those is to do a 5 day intensive course of max dosage as described on the bottle and follow through with this even if the pain stops. Warm up before you play, and ice after. Then use the ani-inflammatories only intermittently. I often take a couple of Naproxen BEFORE a long practice or gig.

Thanks,

I guess the real point of my post was that I got rid of my long-standing tendonitis in just a few days.

I had it to. My best friend's mom is a nurse. She said take it easy for a while and get a brace for it.
