HELP! 3 finger picking

Hey all. I think I need some help. I've been trying to use 3 fingers on my picking hand, but it doesn't seem to be working. Whenever I do it, my index finger goes separately, but my middle and ring fingers stick together. I've been playing w/ 2 fingers for about 15 months now, and I need some tips on how I can use the 3 fingers independently to increase my picking speed. Thanks in advance.
