G|----------------------9-9----9-9------------------11-11----11-11--| (x4)
D|-----11-11---11-11------------------9-9----9-9--------------------|
A|-------------------7-7----7-7------------------9-9------9-9-------|
E|--9-9-----9-9--------------------7-7----7-7-----------------------|

i use the floating thumb and it seem near too energy consuming to make my thumb skip strings alot...and i cant play it at 130bpm. should i revamp my technique or should i just practise harder?

For that type of thing I generally start with my middle finger and then index, then I can skip up and do middle again. For some reason it's just easier for me to play that way. Or if you wanted to get your pinky and ring finger strength up, you could make it that much easier on yourself that way. Maybe try skipping the second Ab at first, and then working it in?

this is defintely a song ur gonna have to learn at a slower tempo

http://renegademinds.com/Default.aspx?tabid=46

this will slow the tempo down up to 50% and once u get it down to play it slow just gradually start playing it faster and it'll come to you.

When I play that song I put my thumb on pickup(when playing on E & D strings) and on E string(when playing on A & G strings).
It can be easily played with thumb on a pickup all the time. I never use floating thumb tech. when playing octaves.

A unique way to play this song (I believe I came up with this but I'm not sure) would be to play the low notes with your thumb (using gentle double thumbing) and play the high notes with the middle and index fingers.

It would be hard to co-ordinate, but would make this song practically effortless.

i found chili's stuf needed anchoring on the pup, you can move your thumb onto the E as you move across the strings, which also stops any unwanted sound from that string. If you watch flea he really anchors on the pup. but at the end of the day for speeds and quick string changes it's practice, if you feel your hand cramping stop and rest.
