Question Help with tapping

Okay, IDK if any of you have experienced this, but whenever I tap, there's this metallic dull sound before the note rings. How do I combat this?

fret buzz? not enough pressure on the string? I also know when tapping, you can get a lot of cross-string chatter, a lot of musicians use a hair-tie to mute the strings just above the lowest not you're tapping.

Not necessarily fret buzz.

How'd I get more pressure?

lower action/&higher frets
IMO lower radius helps too.

technique wise, tap closer to the end of the fret and for more pressure, apply more pressure.

if you tap with just one finger, you may strengthen that finger by putting another over it.

that's about it I guess.

well, what kind of tapping are we talking here? like, stu hamm tapping, or like van halen tapping? I would be more than happy to show you on some form of video chat if you are capable of doing so.
