| Yeah, it's generally easier with lighter gauge strings. Currently I have extra lights on my bass, down from regular lights, and medium lights before that.
I have kind of gotten out of that whole double thump scene, I don't even really slap anymore, the next strings I buy are going to be a thicker gauge because I'm not interested in doing all that stuff anymore, and I want a thicker sound.
but yeah, generally speaking the lighter gauge strings helped a little bit.
I believe I recorded that with DR lo-riders .040-.095
