If you think about it, this approach offers a lot of benefits over more traditional thumb/index finger picking styles in that you get much more power and control over the pluck, not to mention the flexibility of using other playing techniques at the same time. Cool stuff!

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: NSW Australia | | | I actually used to play guitar like that many years ago before I knew how to hold a pick properly, using the thumb and pick independently, but my hand never had any coordination, but I was 6 or 7 at the time, so this is about 15 years ago before I had an interest in playing an instrument seriously.
I'll have to give this a try though, but I have a feeling it probably won't catch on for me, as I don't like playing slap technique very much. |
