High pitched tone from middle finger on G string

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello everyone. I've bought a set of TI Flat strings few months ago. 2 weeks ago all of my strings were settled except my G string. I wanted string to string consistency so I began to play alot on G string only, lot of popping and aggressive fingerpicking to make the string settle. After some days it settled but at the sime time I developed calluses on my index and middle finger tip and it's been since then that I started getting an annoying high-pitched sound, especially while playing on G string. Note that this doesn't happen when I play with a pick. I also tried to wear a glove on my right hand while playing, and the tone of my G string is almost the same as other strings. Playing with thumb also gives an overall consistent tone.
It happens mainly while using fingers "naked". Also, it is more evident on middle finger than on index.
I did some samples so you can better understand what i'm talking about

Here I'm playing while wearing a glove on the right hand to "protect" the tip of the fingers:

It is still possible to hear that on the G string I still get a different tone between middle and index finger (middle finger has a more harsh tone)

Here I'm playing without a glove and using middle finger only, I get a similar tonal difference with index finger but to a lesser degree:

While i'm thinking that this problem is related to my fingers, I can't understand why it happens mainly/only on G string.
If my G string was defective I still would hear a difference while playing with anything different from fingers.
Please note that I've never had this kind of problem before, so I don't believe that this is coming from bad right hand technique.

your problem is why i had to stop playing the ti's. i could never get ANY of the strings to settle down. i'm surprised you got any settling down at all.
