Hipshot D-Tuner practice techniques

For those of you out there who use a HipShot and regularly switch between tunings: are there particular exercises that you've practiced to get used to switching back and forth? I'm playing scales, arpeggios, etc but still not as comfortable as I'd like to be. Am I missing something?

I installed one on every 4 banger I've owned since the mid 80's.
All it takes is a little practice to get familiar with the drop D.
I sometime flip it down in the middle of songs just to hit lower notes then flip it back when you can play open strings.
But, it is so natural to me that I can adjust on the fly after all these years.
Keep playing with it and you will be fine!
