Oh you WANT that sound

I thought you said you wanted the sound OUT of your bass, as if it was a problem.

Calm down, in with the good air, out with the bad. It was a little rib, they happen from time to time, don't take things so personally. I meant no offense, just a joke

I read an interview where fieldy said that he turns his midrange off, so his EQ looks like a big smiley. Try that. Another cause of that sound is how he has the strings so loose. His bass is tuned ADADA ir ADADG I believe. That is pretty low, and the strings will have a very low tension. That floppiness causes the click as the strings hit the pickups. So that might get you started on getting his tone.

So like you said in your original post, boost lows and highs, and kill the mids. And detune a lot.

He also said in his interview that he doesn't ever practice, so try that, you might get another step closer to his tone.
