How do YOU mute the lower strings while slapping the higher ones?

Say you are slapping on the A and popping on the G, how are you muting the E (and B, in my case)?

I use a mixture of the palm of my attacking hand and whatever fingers are free on my fretting hand. Normally though, my palm resting against the low strings is enough. If I adjust to slap and pluck lower strings, then the inside of my fretting hand will mute the G and D.

The only time I use a scrunchy is for tapping.. and even then it`s only needed on my Ray.

Index finger, left hand across the strings, very light touch.
Pretend your index is a very light capo. When not slapping, mute with the palm of the Right hand.

I'm not sure if it's the same as how wysiwyg248 mutes, but I tend to lightly touch the string above with the tip of my index (or fretting finger) to mute the string. It looks like I'm pointing at the string that needs the mute. Generally you should only need to mute the string above where you are slapping, otherwise work on your aim :P

Depends on the riff. Left hand fingers, right wrist / forearm, ball of the thumb, whatever it takes.

I never needed a scrunchie but then, I ain't Wooten. Not even close.

Dropkick, it is pretty much the way I do it... I just lay the index finger on the board very lightly.

I'm with the light index finger method, but hey, I always see Marcus Miller doing it with his left thumb (wraparound).

+1 with the index and definitely the thumb. But when playing 5 or more strings...mostly the index and never the thumb.
