How do you play this type of slap bass?

I was wondering if anyone could clue me into how to get this type of sound. It's Josh Dunham from Prince's Indigo Nights album. I've up to this point been an exclusive fingerstyle player but I really like that type of sound he gets. Any suggestions in terms of attack, bass/amp setup, etc would be really appreciated.
