| | | | From what I remember, the bass is being held up by the strap. As you may notice, he's bent way over, allowing the bass to sling forward while still being held by the strap.
Can't say I know for sure, though.

I've seen him do this quite a few times and it usually is during parts of a song where he's galloping on an open string.
