how the hell do i bend strings on the first few frets

i was trying to play iron man and at the beginning i hav to play an e on the d string, the 2nd fret and bend it a step then down.

i can bend the strings at the high frets but its a different story whe n when its at tthat area

also i dont actually know the song but maybe you could bend it at the 7th fret a string...

You dont. The string bends you. Unless your chuck norris in which case you shouldnt have had a problem in the first place! POSER!
But seriously, theres not much you can do. Try to pull harder?:P I can bend on the second fret.

The closer you get to the nut, the harder it will be to bend the string. Move up the neck for easier bending.

Go one string down and bend it on higher fret. (for example: you can bend b on the 7th fret on E sting instead of bending it on 2nd fret on A string.

The bass doesn't play on the intro. Just guitar and kick drum.

^^ He's right. But you can either bend on a higher fret on a lower string as others have suggested, or get yourself a vibrato setup.

besides that, Sabbath was always detuning... I doubt it was a 2nd fret bend.
