How to maintain presence?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've decided to turn to finger picking after playing bass with a pick for nearly 2 years, but i'm having trouble maintaining my presence because of the change from a pick which has lots of treble to my fingers with less. Are there any techniques or eq settings, strings etc. that would help me keep a high presence?

Thanks alot, any help would be greatly appreciated

Presence like lots of highs or presence like being heard well in the mix?

For the former, you can grow your fingernails to add a picklike attack to your playing, for the latter - boost your low mids and/or tell your guitarist to turn down the bass on his amp. Flatwounds also help but may not necessarily be your cup of tea.
