I probably play about 15 hours on my own and i used to play 6 a week in band practises but i recently disbanded one of my bands and it is now down to 2. I tend to just work on consistency and timing through the majority, which is just jamming to a metronome. The rest is me just trying to find new sounds and trippy lines or trying to sight read classical piano pieces.

I try to get at least an hour of actual focused practice by myself in every day, and generally get between that 1 hour and 3 hours. I also have 3 days a week where I am playing with other people either at songwriting workshops, rehearsals or gigs. So, I typically wind up with 20 hours or so of bass time in a week.

Cool It's not how much time, but the quality of the time that matters

I play my bass almost everyday and practice for about 1-2 hours when I'm alone. When I goto my drummers hosue tohugh, we'll jam any where between 4-7 hours (with a few breaks[drinks, bathroom, etc.])

I feel I'm progressing at a good speed, and that I'm starting to develop my personal style of playing.

And when I don't play my bass for 1-3 days, my fingers get very antzy and I feel sorta guilty, cuz I don't want to lose my touch(or my callouses)

The only thing I can sday that would be(hopefully) universal is, practice enough that you feel it's making oyu improve oyur playing, but not to the pount that you feel it's too much in too short a time

Whever and whoever you are, ROCK ON!!

I spend a bare minimum or 3 hours a day on music (oh if only there were more hours in a day, or if I didn't have to go to work!) but only 1 hour of that I'm actually touching a bass. As most people know it’s about quality not quantity

Practice time.

I average only 2 hours a day. Less than most here. It's due to a 60 hour per week job, a wife and 4 kids. When they go to bed, I go down stairs to practice. Generally I work on warm ups including finger dexterity exercises, running through some scales, and some "free style". I work on new material for the band. I'm always tweaking parts for our songs. Finally, I work on singing and playing together. I use a Tascam BT-1, a small mixer, and a programmable drum machine, all through Sony MDRV 600 headphones. (If you haven't used these your missing out. I've found none better for the money).

Bah! High School Sucks. I desperatly want to practice more, but I have do do homework alot of the time.

Generally I get in an hour a day on electric bass, but then there is usually another hour on my tuba and about a half hour on my double bass (Im learning, I dont have the endurance). The practice time on the other insturments carries over to the bass alot and vice versa. You have no idea how much practicing jazz solos on a wind insturment, like the tuba, helps my bass improv.

Never.

Practising is a task, playing is an enjoyable experience.
