How to slap

I know this is very generic, but I'm having trouble slapping. I play on a Peavey Grind BXP 5 string, and my main problem is hitting the right string. I've been trying for a while, but when I slap, I can't slap the right string without hitting another, especially when I speed up. Does anyone have any pointers in general about slapping?

Slow it way down. Get a metronome and do it with a really slow beat. That's how I got it.

Also, under the technique sum forum there is a thread called slap bass welcome center. Lots of good info in there!

You just have to keep doing it. Repetition is the key
