HOw to train standing up bass?

Play more standing up, simple as that.

I knew a guy who could play the guitar like a madman sitting down, running up and down the fretboard etc. etc. but when he stood up he had trouble doing the same. He had to basically shorten his strap as high as possible to get the guitar in the same position that he was used to.

I was taught to adjust my strap so that the bass is in the same position whether I am standing or sitting. That way, there is no adjustment necessary. A lot of people strap their basses on really low; that has never been comfortable for me...

I hang it high. I don't look cool, but I sound good doing it - and that's all that matters.

Being in the same house with a bass makes you cool!!!
