How would one do this?

Hey there. I ran across this video on youtube, and while normally I'm pretty good at picking up things by ear, this one just has me stumped. I realize he's double thumbing, but that's about as far as I can get. Anyone able to make sense of how this is played? Anyone able to perhaps break it down?

Just looks like a lot of double thumping. I don't see him plucking at all and it doesn't sound that way either, atleast to me. So, all I can help with is saying that he is double thumping almost every note, I don't know how else...sorry

I disagree about the popping, I definitely hear some in there.

He's using everything in the book; double thumb, hammer-ons, pull-offs and pops. Very nice playing. Not just a wank fest. Listenable.
