I NEED A BOOK THAT TEACHES HOW TO BUILD BASSLINES

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello everyone,

I am an aspiring jazz pianist and I need a book that teaches how to build bass lines. We play gospel/jazz stuff. This is an example of a fast gospel bassline: C-Db-D-Eb-F-Gb-G-Ab This is in the key of Ab. How do you guys build basslines for smooth jazz and fast beat songs.

thanks

Sorry, I had to!

Although, there are several types in the series. Building rock basslines, building walking basslines, etc. You may find something to suit you.

I have this book. It's designed for BG/DB players, but you should be able to use the theory and apply it to piano.
