This thread is pretty much pointless considering I've gotten over my limitation, so I'd like to delete it. Who are the moderators?

Leave it here as a reminder to be humble and open to learning.

No, I think I'm good and will probably remember it forever. I've learned my lesson. I met a bassist today with some limitations himself (Couldn't play with more then one finger, didn't know the string names) and totally understand why you guys were frustrated with me.

That aside, what was there to learn? Nothing, it's extremely, extremely easy. Maybe something in my subconscious kept me from realizing that in the first place.

Lastly, I want to thank virtuosity-fueled jazz and funk fusion for showing me the errors of my ways and the power of love

And they said happy endings were only true in fairy tales.

lolomgbass4lyfe, you are talking about PUNK ROCK, right? You're not trying to play Larry Graham on one string, I suppose. Half of all punk rock songs could be played on the E string alone. Tell me how you need to switch strings to play Sex and Violence! I think you're perfectly fine with playing one string alone. I have played punk rock and I know what you mean. People get upset about the technique, the instrument make, etc., but the truth is the only thing that matters is the song. If you have great songs, everything else fades away. Oh, and to punk rock I would add attitude Keep rocking!

The issue has been resolved, he saw the error of his ways and has since mastered the bass, and everyone lived happily ever after...
