Index finger

Ive been playing about a year or so and the other day my son pointed out to me that I only use my index finger when plucking.Is this bad and something I should try to correct?

There is nothing bad or wrong about it, though it limits your playing..unless you are in the same league as the great James Jamerson, who played with one finger.
