Instructional Videos

Alright, I searched and failed.

I wanted to start a topic on favorite instructional videos. Doesn't have to be bass, but musical. I guess not just videos, podcasts, or anything else that is in that "area."

Janek's Podcast is one of my faves! Also, Victor Wooten's Video was fantastic. Victor Wooten & Steve Bailey together did some great stuff.

Other thoughts?

One of my favourite DVD's is Carol Kaye's "Electric Bass Course".

lot of good information on melody comes on the screen as the video plays. Two notes close together then a leap of at least a 3rd, secrete is what you do after the leap.

Once you place the pattern you've got the chord tones plus the scale plus the mode that can be played. Place the pattern and help yourself to what else awaits you.

Love his pull off technique on this one.

I'm a rote beginner and Stu Hamm's Bass Basics DVD or CD-R is great for players like me.

Carol Kaye's is definitely good. I also liked Jack Casady's DVD from Homespun is really great. Rick Danko's DVD is awesome just to see him play, but it's very elementary.
