If you want some ideas for walking, go look at straight-ahead jazz bassists. Ron Carter's a good example.

Me either. Jaco could swing really hard, which sometimes surprised the straight-ahead jazz guys he played with, who generally shied away from playing with bass guitar players. He had the ghost notes down and the whole deal. I don't know of any published examples of his walking lines, though - transcribing some might be your best bet.
(Thanks for the tip on the "Standards Zone" disc!)

Though having stuck up for Jaco's swinging straight-ahead skills, you can't go wrong checking out an all time master like Ron Carter - or Ray Brown, Paul Chambers, Red Mitchell, Percy Heath, and a host of other guys.

Not Jaco, but a good bassline. IMHO.

+1, Standards Zone by the Brian Melvin Trio is one of my favourite albums.

Maybe check out Mike Richmond's bassline book, too.
