Jellyfish pick?

Hey, has anyone ever tried the Jellyfish pick for a bass? What were the results? I've been seeing it at MF, and wondering what it would sound like on a bass.

I've thought about that, too. Never even seen one.

I tried it and hated it. Didn't do much for me so I gave it to a guitarist friend who never uses it (HA!).

Surely someone has a use for it though. I just never could get on well with it.

Bump for a Gimmick haha.

I was stoked when I heard about this and checked it out on Youtube for the bow technique. Thought that might be great for a fretless bass.

The other two techniques, chorus and pluck are OK, but bow was worthless.

"expands the guitar's sonic horizons" Yea right. Pretty dissapointing. It just sounds like scraping your strings with a textured surface. A quarter would be a 40th of the price.

+1. Bought one, didn't like it on either guitar or bass. I have a Piranha bow that works much better but leaves tons of rosin on the bass. Even that has problems, the bow is so short you can't play very long notes without changing direction. It is pretty cool on guitar, though. Ebow sounds nothing like a hair bow, no scrape, no friction. When I need that sound, I just use an old cheapo violin bow.

What is it, a metal tipped pick? Play with a quarter

It's metal tipped, but it's like a slope. Made of short strings. It's weird. I think they stopped making them.
