hahahaha! i laughed so hard reading that!
but back to topic:
i think a somewhat "well-thought" approach of the teacher is what every student would like to get. i have no problems if the teacher tells me "ok, where are we gonna start!? what do you want to learn?" when i realize its leading me/us to something. but i didnt get ask ANY of that.
i was getting him my bass and we stood there and i was waiting. and thats about it. if i wouldnt have had him shown the youtube videos there would not have been anything to talk about for him (at least i feel so). there was no real analyzing of my playing right there.
the thing that is disturbing me is just the "no-concept"-approach. i mean he showed me some basics (like how to hold the bass properly, which height) and 5 minutes later he told me to play a certain scale in mixolydian mode and dorian. later on he slapped a little bit. where are the connections between those points!?
