Keep getting fretbuzz anjd missing the string!

Basically the problem is that every time that I fret a note, I keep getting that horrible buzzing sound from my strings. I also keep missing the string when I am plucking the string, especially if it requires a change from E to A string.
I've been playig for a few months now.
What can I do to stop the problem??

PRACTICE!!!! Also, where do you fret the notes?

If you have to fret the 3rd fret, push your finger down closer to the 3rd fret itself, not on the fret, and not directly between, but just BEFORE the fret, this may help in eliminating some buzz... If it still buzzes, its either a bad technique, or your neck is warped.

Yes, just practice. I remember holding my bass for the first time.

I had trouble playing the intro to Smoke On The Water. :P
