Keep on learning . . .

So I have done pretty well for myself with fingerstyle playing.

I wish to learn pick now, so I can be more versatile.

So I went out and bought a Tortex 1.14mm pick.

I tried it tonight at practice . . . omg

I was getting so lost. Could not find my strings with the pick. could not keep a decent rhythm when I was on the strings, and when I would get the part down on my right hand, my left hand would get last.

I felt like I regressed two years, and did not know how to play at all.

I know I gotta keep at it, so I can learn it. So I am coming here for help, advice, and suggestions. Anyone?

Play slower. You are learning a new skill and you wont be great at it at first, like you said, just have to keep at it.
