OK this may sound kindergarten to most of you and some of you may wondr how the hell I am playing in a band and not know my scales but I don't.
I play by ear and a little direction from the guitar players but I am tired of not knowing my scales. So I have two questions:
A. are there any other players out ther that don't know their scales?
B. Does anyone Know where to find a good website or DVD or something to teach me bass scales ina practical manner. I have trouble grasping theory for theory's sake.
In other words maybe one that relates scales to a good blues or rock jam etc.

Thanks for your help

I found this web site particularly good. It's well laid out and explains things in an easy to read and simple way.
