Lefty Problems

hey i had a question about the way i play, im left handed but when i first started playing (little over a year ago) i decided to learn how to play right handed because i thought there would be a larger slection of right handed gear.

and my question is do you think in the long run i might have any problems with playing from using my non dominant hand?

ive asked around and nobody seems to realy know

having your dominant hand being your fretting hand might even be an advantage. i had to work really hard to get my left hand strong enough to fret with all fingers. the only downside is that you would have to strenghten your right hand to pluck, but i think that is easier to do than working out your 4 fretting fingers. i know that with orchestral string instruments, you fret with your left hand no matter which is dominant, so this same theory would probably apply to bass guitar. i do not see any problems with plucking with your non dominant hand.

Short answer: No. You'll be fine .
You're in good company of left handed people playing right handed bass. Just keep practicing!
