Like cross-picking, buy by finger plucking

Hello. I often like to play arpeggio patterns across three or four strings. However, I have found that, as I move my fingers from one string to another string that is not directly adjacent, the former string tends to ring ever so slightly. This can be problematic if I play such arpeggios for prolonged periods.

I don't usually have this problem when playing on one or two strings as my finger plucking technique often results in my fingers both plucking and muting the strings. This consequential fix tends not to work as well when I play on more than two strings.

Are there any good exercises for finger-plucking arpeggios across three or four strings while using the plucking fingers to mute ringing notes?

Thanks.
Jeff
