The 1st 20 or so seconds Incubus Bassist Ben Kenney is playing a solo and I know he uses a jazz bass and however he is making his bass tone sound the way it does in the 1st 20 or so seconds is great. BUT DO ANY OF YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT MAKES THIS TONE POSSIBLE

I've not downloaded the file, but I've got the song... it doesn't sound like the bass kicks in until 00:18. Plus, it's Dirk Lance playing it, not Ben Kenney.

Remember that they have a DJ scratching too...

Ahhh.... my bad, should have listened to the track... live version. Quite likely it was Ben Kenney then, and the effect sounds like some kind of octave / wah pedal. Very aquatic anyway.
