Little finger (pinky) technique

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,

I am struggling with using my little finger (or pinky or whatever you call it) on my fretting hand. I do try to use it quite a lot but often get string buzz. I don't seem to make any progress strength or technique wise despite making a concious effort to practice this. When I perform with the band I generally use my third finger to compensate to get the sound right.

Any tips?

Mark

Make sure you fret real close to the actual fret, it helps with the buzzing until your pinky gains strength.

I dont know about you but it took quite some hours of relentless playing for my pinky to become stronger, so I'd say keep at it and you'll see the results eventually.
