Looking for an advanced instructor in L.A. -suggestions?

Hello all! What a wonderful forum!
I have an ad running in the L.A. Craigslist, but I thought I'd reprint it here as well, with your kind permission...

Please read this carefully so we can hopefully be on the same page. I've been playing Bass for over 40 years. I have decent chops, and I toured for many years full time until I was 30- mostly Rock and pop. All my life I've loved jazz, but I've never had an opportunity to play it till now. My relative fluency and decent ears have allowed me to fall in with some wonderful players, but every one of them have Music degrees from Berklee, USC, Dick Grove, etc. I'm frustrated that they are speaking quickly in a language that I mostly understand, but not quite. Substitutions, mode theory, chord theory, and even some basic theory is an area I'm weak on, even though my ears will usually come up with something that the band digs.

I play a 5 string electric Bass.

This is what I need:
A HIGHLY structured lesson plan that will quickly help me to fill in the areas of weakness in my understanding of theory.
A methodical primer on reading skills, starting from fairly basic to advanced. My reading is so rusty I will almost have to start from scratch.
I'd prefer to work out of a specific book that you are readily familiar with-whether it's your own or another instructor. Examples: Chuck Sher's "The Improvising Bass Player" etc. (I own that one...)
I'm sure you're a great player, but teaching is an art in itself, as much as being a great musician. I would prefer a credentialed teacher, perhaps teaching at a college level or at M.I. etc.
You must have a degree in music, preferably from one of the better music schools, and I'd prefer someone over the age of thirty.
You MUST be well versed in jazz, specifically. My favorite genres are Bebop, West Coast Jazz, Blue Note, Impulse etc. My favorite players are Scott La faro, Paul Chambers, Reginald Workman etc. Yes, I'm keen to learn newer styles as well, but my roots are in 1950's to 1960's bebop.

If you KNOW of a teacher like this, perhaps you could forward that info as well. Thanks!

Specific much? Don't accredited instructors like this usually advertise for customers?

Think you got your standards set pretty high there.

HAHA! So I should...lower my standards? I'm just looking for a highly credentialed bass teacher. I'm sure there are quite a few in L.A., but I just have to find them...
Carol Kaye teaches in L.A., but I was looking for other options as well.
