Looking for drum beats

Sign in to disble this ad
Does anyone know of a website where I can download mp3 files of drum beats? Like 4 or five minute samples of different beats I can jam along with? Or other means of inexpensively acquiring some cool funky beats and blues beats, etc., without having to buy a drum machine? Or is there a drum machine ap out there that's good? Should I just knuckle down and figure out my Garageband? What do you guys do?

I'm not sure if i'm allowed to mention other forums here, my apologies if it's a no-no, but try the groove library on basschat, there are some beats uploaded there for this purpose exactly.

There are a lot of drumming sites where you'll find grooves of all styles.

IIRC you can mention other forums on here as long as you're not insulting them, putting them down, etc.

If you have Garage Band, take the time to learn it. It should take you about 15 minutes to figure it out. (OK maybe a bit longer, but it is super easy). Once you do that, you can plug in all kinds of loops. The apple site has some nice tutorials on how to cut up the loops and make your own beats.

The apple loops that come with GB can get boring however. There are all kinds of loops you can download that plug right into Garage Band. Check out Drums on Demand. They have a "Mix Bag" of about 800 or so loops for about $30.

I'm surprised at how many of these threads keep popping up (well, like 3 or 4 in the past month seems more than usual to me). Might have better luck in General Instruction. There's a few suggestions in this thread:

Online Drum Beats?

Thanks you all. Garageband turned out to be a snap. Now in search of shuffle beats. Any good sources you all have run across?
