Question Mark king Q.

Sign in to disble this ad
hi basslovers

I think I'll stick around a bit longer . cool site !

yes, towards my question ;

It's about Mark King , when I hear a record made by him I always have 2 remarks , 1: How does he do that ? 2 : He sounds like a keyboard or some kind of electronic device .

Is it the man himself , is it the gear or is it realy altered by electronics ?

Can you be more specific?

1. He is a world-class player

2. There's keyboard bass on the later Level 42 CDs

It's the man himself. He doesn't have much of a lowend, but he is amazing. Keep in mind, he used to be a drummer, so playing style is very percussive, being that he lives in the hi end, it somehow comes out more melodic when combined with his singing. Perhaps someone in the UK could delve deeper into this question regarding his FX, etc.

I have "Guaranteed" and Mark's fretless playing is superb. Great tone and phrasing.
