Me playing the Simpsons!!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all,

I recently finished arranging the theme tune to the Simpsons as a solo bass piece. All being well, it should appear in my solos book later in the year, but until then, I have uploaded it to my myspace site. Check it out and let me know what you think! It was recorded in one take, with a couple of small punch-ins and what you hear is a rough mix.

I'll do a video of it later as well.

Enjoy!

dude that's totally cool, the awesome thing is that in addition to really enjoying your bass playing, i could picture the entire opening sequence to the simpsons

Very awesome and a lot better than I could even think of playing something like that.

I dunno, though... it just, kinda, seemed to be missing the... bouncy-ness?.. of the original theme.

I you don't mind me asking, what type of royalties do you have to pay to put a book out like that. i'm sure it varies by artist but i can't imagine Metallica and 20th century Fox are cheap. Forgive me if I'm out of line here.

Not sure yet. Although I have published other books and dealt with copyright several times, it's different for every book. I'm in the process off finding out what it's going to cost at the moment. It's issues like these that determine whether the book includes a CD, or is published at all! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Believe it or not.... Nothing Else Matters was the first song at my wedding! 250 stuffy people watching me and my lovely bride dance to Metallica.

P.S. Your version is amazing.

I now officially suck.

Absolutely amazing, considering the rythmic difficulty of the piece. I look forward to your book, though i don't know if i'll be able to play like that !!!
