Exclamation Mel Bay's Complete Jazz Bass Book

Hello talkbassist! Greetings from Caracas, Venezuela!

I don't know if this is the right place to request what i'm looking for, but I hope you can help me out with this....

I'm looking forward to increase my bass knowledge and getting started with jazz, so I once asked in another forum about a book and they recommend me "Mel Bay's Complete Jazz Bass Book". Thing is, I can't find it online (you gotta understand, I'm a 20 year old guy, without a credit card, so I can't buy it on Amazon and it is really cheap, only 17$... besides, here in Venezuela these kind of text books are REALLY expensive and very difficult to find)

So if any of you guys can tell me a web where I can download it, I would REALLY appreciate it!

P.S.: If you're interested, you can visit my band's MySpace, there's a video too (live) Hela | Free Music, Tour Dates, Photos, Videos

take care! And thank you in advance!

Hey there,
that's is a good book to start discovering the jazz world by bass player, another one I can suggest you is "the improvisor's bass method" by chuck sher.
About the way to find the book to download for free I doubt it will be easily, your only option is to try some file sharing software.
Cheers. Enrico

I have that ("the Improvisor's Bass Method" by Chuck Sher) & I like it a lot. The Cycle of Fifths and Scales studies in the first part is as well written as I have seen.
It also has rhythm studies and linear scale patterns which have helped me a great deal. I believe it was published in 1979.
