Metal bassplayer needs help ! fingertechnique

Hello guys ! I am a bassplayer who kind of has just started playing my own way , everything is flowing and i am starting get really good . But now I am starting to have some thoughts about my fingerplaying , my sound is kind of sounding a little to treable. I´m just wondering if anyone out there could give me some pointers and maby recording a little video about finger playing , I just want to know if i am hitting the strings to hard with my fingers , should i go more softly on the string or maby just pull it . Please hit me with pointers !
