middle finger bleeding

I have been doing a lot of popping on he g string with my second finger of my right hand. First I got a blister then i peeled it. Now it is sensitive and if I start popping with that finger it starts to bleed. Should I give it a while to heal up and start again. Is there better string for popping that are better on the fingers right now I'm using rotosound swingbass 66 roundwound

Yes, of course. Use your index finger instead, until it heals. It's good to be able to use both fingers for this anyway. Those strings are tough on skin, but give it time- your fingers will toughen up.
