more experienced players - help me out please?

hey everyone. im learning this awesometastic bass riff and i was wondering if you could help me out a bit.

in this video, is it being picked in eighth notes with hammer ons and with the offnotes sounding because of the high distortion + slight pull offs or are all the notes being picked, as in sixteenths?

Sounds like hammer ons to me...

Hammer-ons. You can actually hear the technique (and view his left hand) when he picks down and pulls off, the distortion brings it out a little.
