Muting the E string

Sign in to disble this ad
It seems always get less volume out of the E string When im plucking it. It’s so damn difficult to get the fingers to sound even, when im plucking it really fast. The other strings are simpler to control, but I have a hard time getting a comfortable positioning. I have tried to mute the E string with laying my thump on top of it, in front of the two picking fingers, but that change the tone, and adds an unwanted harmonic sound that don’t belong there.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
