Muting with a pick

Anyone got an easy way to do this. I currently just try to lightly lay my plucking hand across the strings, but it's pretty hard to mute them all consistently.

Also, i was at a show about a month ago, the bassist (Dana Strum from Slaughter), when he played it would play each note for a second and then stop abruptly. I didn't see any muting or anything, he was actually really bouncing his hand around. Is this just done with effects and stuff ?

Use your left hand (The one you hit the notes on the fretboard with) to mute the strings by lightly touching the strings without putting too much pressure on them.

Dana Strum would of been doing the same thing.

I use a mixture of palm muting, my picking hand thumb (for the bass strings while playing higher strings), my fretting hand for the treble strings, and telekinesis to mute while playing with a pick.

play the note as you usually would then lift ur feeting finger while still touching the string. it mutes it.

I found out that mind bullets shot at my amp are better to mute my bass.

Ain't reversible though.
