| Use the fretting hand.
Example:
If you're playing, say a triplet, with a Bb on the G-string & raking toward the
C on the A-string-
-Play the Bb with the index finger (Fretting hand = Index finger)
-Play the G on the D-string with the index finger WHILE Muting the D-string with the fretting hand(pinky finger) This would be a 'ghosted' note...seen as an "X" on paper.
-Play the C on the A-string with the index finger (Fretting hand = Index finger)
Rhythm = l1&a...l
Notes = lBbxC...l
If you're talking about muting the string just played-
Ease the pressure with the fretting hand finger used to play that particular note.
In the above example, ease the pressure on the finger playing the Bb...just enough so it doesn't keep ringing out.
Do it slow; helps to build up some muscle memory when doing things new.
