my action is way too high...

but if I lower it then I get really bad fret buzz. And when I play some punk songs with my fingers even now the string keeps clanking with the fretboard. And I have to press down so hard that my thumb ends up locking up and hurting really bad. So I don't know what to do...

When's the last time you adjusted your truss rod?

You might have relief issues with your neck, requiring a truss rod adjustment.

Gary Willis has a nice setup manual available here that will show you how to make truss rod adjustments.

If you have no success here, or are nervous about performing this kind of adjustment on your own axe, you should be able to find a local luthier who will perform a setup on your bass for $50 to $75 (varies though) plus the cost of new strings.

Best luck.

yeah... it kinda looked like this rouge I know... lol... but its not bad if your going for a very upright sound i guess... and if you get the job done with it it would be no problem, just seemed pretty high to me and it seemed like it'd be harder to slap and etc...

that's horrible. read up on how to adjust the truss rod and action properly. the Gary Willis one is pretty nice, i thought.

Not if you're planning to shoot arrows from it.

Tighten your truss rod. Follow the instructions on Willis' site to a tee. With a bow that big in the neck, you're probably going to need to tighten it 1/4 turn, wait a day, then tighten it another 1/4 turn.

I've heard of high action, but that tops the cake. With a bow like that you could go hunting!

As stated I'd tighten it 1/4 turn, wait a day, and tighen another 1/4 if necessary, you might only have to do an 1/8th the second day though.

Then, lower your strings and gradually bring them up until they don't buzz anymore.

I had about the same problem with my first bass, maybe even a little bit worst. I tried to get it fixed, but then I discovered another problem : the rod was broken... Hope it's not the case with yours

bring to a guitar shop for a complete setup
25 bucks and whatever new strings cost, and they will fix that up, this is going to need small adjustment over a week or so time, it is the truss rod, the bridge saddles, and possibly the nut,
